“You can tell everyone you once knew something true, but now it’s gone.” Somewhere between the quivering literate poeticism of Bright Eyes and the warm glow of early Pavement resides the wonderfully intricate sound of New York orch pop collective Ravens & Chimes. Ushered in by a piano motif redolent of Mercury Rev, which opens a door on the twinkling rhythms of ‘Arrow’ which is Asher Lack’s wistful tip toe through the weeds of a relationship upon which he vividly draws a romantic sentiment in the night sky. Gorgeously rendered it’s a delicious taste of their new album Holiday Life.
