We’ve been cocking an ear at Abi Wade since her ‘And Blood And Air EP’ in 2011. She’s back now with new single ‘Boxer’, out on July 15th.
Much more threatening and darker than her earlier work, still and as ever her use of cello sets her apart from most apart from maybe The McCarricks, and they’ve been quiet a year a two now. Don’t think of it as a novelty, although it’s surely a refreshing change. Instead, take it for the intelligent and contemporary post indie something-or-other that it is.
Is this indication of an album on the way? Here’s hoping.
