Fourteen years on and The National still haven’t cheered themselves up, which is a good thing! Their sixth alum, ‘Trouble Will Find Me’ came out this week and is a sorrowful affair once again. Matt Berninger’s deep baritone vocals really wouldn’t work on anything jolly, but they surely do work here on an album of true depth and quality. Somber yet sophisticated.
