East-London’s new-born indie band, The Red Lapels will not disappoint if a bit of soul garage tickles your fancy, but these four mod rockers have taken this genre to a whole new level. With endearing vocals echoing the likes of Jake Bugg that can sweep you away through their effortless charm, The Red Lapels debut single ‘It Ain’t Easy’, has been injected with colourful guitar solos and fast-paced classic rock chords producing upbeat, chirpy tones.
They throw in just enough rough and raw vocals to satisfy anyone who hungers a soul-felt sensation such as Alabama Shakes mixed with a bit of vintage potion. ‘It Ain’t Easy’, proves that although there is and will continue to be a huge amount of heavy competition out there, this band are one who are impressive enough to make a splash in this genre and more, whilst they deck themselves out in a Weller-inspired fashion. Delivering a few minutes of refreshing original sounds that have the ability to reach a colossal peak, meeting levels that you thought were unachievable, right through to mellow, calm sounds the next; near to acoustic.
Fear not, you may think you have heard this all before but The Red Lapels have produced something with a blast of fresh air. Something that will get you foot tapping, beer-chugging and crazy-ass dancing after a few pints, that you will forget this band aren’t famous.
Their debut single ‘It Ain’t Easy’ is out on the 27th May- so for your sake, put a note of it in your diary, it won’t fail to impress.
