California X are three guys from Massachusetts who clearly spent a lot of time listening to late eighties post punk/pre grunge bands like Husker Dü, Dinosaur Jr and The Pixies. They have just released their self-titled debut album and, whilst it leans more towards punk, pitches itself firmly in that era. It’s a good set of tunes though and sounds very relevant a quarter of a century later.
