A Band of Buriers have never done a cover song before. The decision was not one taken lightly and certainly not one they ever thought to take. While driving through Austria in a battered old Volvo, with just two cassettes in the car
(Leonard Cohen ‘I’m Your Man’ and Chris Isaak ‘Wicked Game’) and thousands of scratched/unplayable CD’s we got to re-visiting Chris Isaak. Nostalgia abounded and the band got to musing.
‘Wicked Game’ is performed live by the band in an old farmhouse in the depths of Oxfordshire. It is recorded by Grannyflat Studios and filmed by Andy Tyler
2012 was a busy year for A Band Of Buriers. As well as releasing their first studio album – Filth, to handsome acclaim, they toured in France and Austria as well as in Italy, Switzerland and Germany, touring with Micah P. Hinson on the UK leg of his European tour, hosting a monthly folk night at Blacks member’s club in Soho and played in all the best venues in London – from The Union Chapel, Cecil Sharp House, Ronnie Scott’s and house shows around the country.
And so as 2013 gets going, the band are preparing a new show, which will be unveiled in April as they embark on their first French tour with booking Agent Aimez-Vous Brahms and as the precursor to their next release.
