Taking these songs back to the UK Gale set about recording A Fairer Sea with producer (and former Ride frontman) Mark Gardener in Oxford. The result is a brilliantly realized album, A Fairer Sea, filled to the brim with articulate pop hooks, Beach Boys style harmonies and wonderful musicianship provided by co-producer Joe Bennett (Dreaming Spires / Danny And The Champions Of The World / Goldrush), ex Black Nielson members Tom Wenzel (drums), Andy Reaney (bass), and extra touches from Gardener himself, Emma Maurice, Teuk Henri, Julien Paschal and Matt Cha.
