He of Gene fame Martin Rossiter, has announced six live dates for November in support of his forthcoming solo album ‘The Defenestration of St Martin’. In addition announcement of Martin’s UK tour, he has also revealed the new video for his song “Drop Anchor”. Reflective of the album’s quiet elegance and introspection ‘Drop Anchor’ is a starkly naked ballad that see’s Rossiter’s tugging tone undress emotions set against a poignant piano motif.
After a eight year sabbatical from the music industry, Martin Rossiter returns with a lyrically raw set of torch songs to mend and break hearts. Martin was, of course, the front man of the 90s most misunderstood and yet beloved groups, Gene. Erroneously dubbed a Brit-Pop band, Gene were in fact outsiders who garnered a passionate following of intelligent and sensitive believers. They disbanded in 2004, having accumulated 10 Top Forty hits and over a million record sales.
As well as currently writing and recording solo material, Martin is also a member of the band Call Me Jolene. Martin Rossiter will release his debut solo album ‘The Defenestration Of St. Martin’ on Monday 26th November 2012. It is available to pre-order now through the fan funded music site PledgeMusic here. http://www.pledgemusic.com/
