Friday 23rd November marks Melanin 9’s ‘Magna Carta’ album launch party and is a “must see” event for all fans of hip hop. The night will feature the most explosive UK hip hop artists, visuals and live performance at the Vibe Bar in London’s Brick Lane.
There will be live performances from MELANIN 9, GENESIS ELIJAH and REWD ADAMS, as well as special guest appearances from CYRUS MALACHI, SKRIBLAH DANGOGH, LOGIC, IRON BRAYDZ, PHOENIX DA ICEFIRE AND DJ279 (CHOICE FM). It’s going to be a fantastic night of music, celebrating everything that is UK hip hop, so get involved and let M9 and friends show you how it’s done..

M9 aka MELANIN 9//
Although a relative newcomer to the UK Hip Hop scene, London’s Melanin 9 (aka M9) has been receiving rare plaudits from his peers and members of the media since the release of his High
Fidelity mixtape in 2007, produced by Beat Butcha and Chemo.
In 2008 he laid down the marker. Having reached the final stages of the renowned “End of the Weak” MC Challenge, he joined forces with Triple Darkness duo Cyrus Malachi and Nasheron on their highly rated “Anathema” album. The release of his second mixtape “144,000” soon followed with production from Wu Tang’s Bronze Nazareth, Beat Butcha, Chemo, Jon Phonics, and featuring Jehst and Triple Darkness. The UK’s 1st Lady of Hip Hop & Radio 1Xtra DJ, Sarah Love, would later describe “144,000” as “the best release in 2008″. The reputation as an artist steeped in the finest traditions of a ”real hip hop emcee” resulted in his opening shows for international luminaries such as Styles-P, Immortal Technique and Wu Tang’s GZA, Redman, Ghostface Killah and Method Man. He has also featured on releases by Killah Priest, Copywrite, Vast Aire and the UK’s Iron Braydz, Logic, Rewd Adams and Skriblah Dan Gogh (Terra Firma).
Finally, in 2012 after much blood, sweat & tears, Melanin 9 has produced his debut album “Magna
Carta” and the release represents everything which has come to be associated with this exceptional talent. M9’s ‘Magna Carta’ is out on Red Snow on December 3rd 2012.

GENESIS ELIJAH
Brixton born Hip-Hop artist Genesis Elijah is one of the most respected names in the UK Hip-Hop scene and has been since his emergence in 2005. In 2005 Genesis Elijah released the critically acclaimed album Deh Pon Road which featured Hip-Hop heavy weights Klashnekoff, Skinnyman, Kyza, Skriblah and Wordsmith. The album was given rave reviews with the single ‘Jah Bless’ finding a spot on the BBC’s 1xtra A list play list. ‘Deh Pon Road’ is considered by most as a UK Hip-Hop classic.
Over the years Genesis Elijah has performed all over the world with artist such as KRS One, Wu Tang, Talib Kweli, Souls Of Mischief, Blak Twang, Phi Life Cypher, Jehst to name a few and has collaborated with the best in the business.

REWD ADAMS
Rewd Adams might not be a household name yet, but the south London rapper, previously known as Skandal has quietly been one to watch out for; most notably since the release of his 2011 album, Rewd Awakening. His latest project, How Not To Make A Living, links him with producer The Last Skeptik, merging Skeptik’s eclectic interests [having worked and DJ’d with the likes of Sway and Jehst, Damon Albarn and the mighty Wu-Tang Clan] with Rewd’s mix of light-hearted banter and honest social commentary. Rewd Adams is performing a full live set alongside M9 on Friday 23rd November, make sure you come down and see it; this is the Magna Carta launch party… do not miss out!
