A name on everyone’s lips female post punk act Savages will be releasing a live EP on 30th September, ahead of their two London shows at the Electrowerkz on 10th and 11th October.
Check out the EP trailer here:
“Savages’ intention was to create a sound, indestructible and musically solid, written for the stage, designed with enough nuances to provide a wide range of emotions. Savages are a self-affirming voice to help experience our girlfriends differently, our husbands, our jobs, our erotic life, and the place music occupies into our lives. Savages’ songs aim to remind us that human beings haven’t evolved so much, that music can still be straight to the point, efficient and exciting.”
Savages live up to their “written for the stage” promise by releasing a genuine Live EP as their second message to the world. On 12-inch and digital download, ‘I Am Here’ was recorded on the band’s July UK tour on dates in tiny, heaving clubs in Bristol and Nottingham. The recordings attempt to capture the brutal nature of the sound of one of the year’s most striking new acts.
‘I Am Here’ EP Track List:
A1 City’s Full
A2 Give Me A Gun
B1 I Am Here
B2 Husbands
The track were recorded by Johnny Hostile and mixed by Birgir Jon Birgisson at Sundlaugin, Iceland.
The band play further headline shows at London’s Electrowerkz on Oct 10 and 11, before heading off to CMJ in New York. Savages have also been confirmed to support Crime and the City Solution on 26th October at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
