Tying their pertinacious agit manifesto to the increasingly soulless and limp mast of electronic music, the experimental scion trinity of Bomb The Bass collaborator Paul Conboy, fine artist Mark Hill, and Jono Podmore (the talent behind Kumo, and tenure aide to Irmin Schmidt of Can), have fashioned an odd radiophonic synthesis of atavistic futurism and compositional sophistication on their last two releases – the Tape EP and Parcel Post 10″, both reviewed on GIITTV – under the moniker of Metamono.
The relatively new project has gained a steady momentum and widening fanbase with each new release, leading to the setting up of their very own record label, Instrumentarium.
This September is set to be a busy month for Metamono, as they showcase their analogue techno live on an upcoming tour, radio show and various events.
Full listing and dictate below.
Radio Show
“The next few weeks are extremely active for Metamono, with a series of intrepid adventures into deep analogue space, following on from their live Radio Show on Alex Paterson (The Orb)’s Chewy Choosedays on August 28.”

Live Cassette Performance
3rd September: Release of Bambino Lives – a C30 live cassette.
“Since Summer 2011 Metamono have occasionally taken over the wonderful and arcane, “vintage emporium” that is Bambino in London’s Crystal Palace and transformed it into a bizarre yet strangely apposite performance space. The Metamono instrumentarium sits comfortably among Bambino’s antique bric-a-brac and hidden treasure, as does the makeshift bar-cum-merchandising stand, even the operatives themselves appear to be permanent fixtures. These sold-out nights have become the stuff of Crystal Palace legend and never fail to produce their own magic: “The strangeness at a Metamono gig, initiated by their methods, their eccentricity, their spontaneity, is infectious… creating all kinds of mutations and deviations from the usual neural pathways and behaviour patterns. ‘One time, a couple of kids started free-running up the side of a building,’ recalls Jono. ‘It affects the audience. It sets people a little freer.’ Liberation technology, indeed.” David Stubbs, The Quietus.”
