Cat Power today shares “Cherokee”, the opening song from her new album Sun, along with a remix of the same track by Nicolas Jaar (awarded Rough Trade’s #2 album of 2011) who strips Cherokee back to a magical and atmospheric wonder.
Cherokee follows “Ruin” as the second song to be taken from Sun, the first Cat Power album of original material since The Greatest (2006). Chan Marshall [Cat Power] produced Sun herself, having recorded across studios in Miami, Malibu and Paris before mixing with Philippe Zdar (Chromeo, Beastie Boys, Phoenix).
Sun is released on Matador Records on September 3rd, 2012.
