You probably gathered a while back that I’m not a huge fan of metal music, although I am quite into the more diluted strains, usually pre cursored with ‘nu’ or ‘alternative’, both of which were booming ten years ago. One member of that clan was System Of A Down, whose ‘Toxicity’ album stands as a modern classic, no matter what your leanings. Whilst they are technically still around, their head honcho, Serj Tankian, has been busying himself with a few solo albums, the latest of which, ‘Harakiri’ came out this week and, for me, it’s his best solo effort yet, so grab a listen if you will, then hold onto it, for he’s planning three more albums very soon, all of which sound like dreadful concepts around jazz, classical and instrumentals.
