American rockers We The Kings release their third studio album next month, ‘Sunshine State Of Mind’, a perfect title for the album as that is just what the album feels like – sunshine, inside and out! Words cannot describe how truly amazing this album really is, jam-packed with sing-a-long classic anthems that will make your 2012 summer the best… guaranteed. It is such a fun album to listen to, with every track being a worthy dance floor great!
First stand out track is ‘Say You Like Me’, after just the first few plays that is it, you are hooked; constantly singing along to the chorus with your hairbrush in hand, swaying along to the almost reggae influenced guitars. Just soft continuous strumming with a mellow feel and good tingle to it throughout – perfect! Then ‘Every Single Dollar’ picks you back up on your feet and has you dancing around the place with its rockabilly feel. If anything this track would fit perfectly into a musical, such a playful and cute track! Next mention goes to ‘Kiss Me Last’ for its unexpected awesome riffage at the beginning; loving the fact the album has a bit of diversity, mixes it up a bit!
Final mention goes to final track ‘You And Only You’, I love the fact the album finishes off with a ballad and a cracking one at that! Lead vocalist, Travis Clark, really shows of his vocal techniques in this track and the lyrics just make you melt – what a beaut!
Give this album a good listen in your car with the windows down and your sunglasses on for that is definitely where it is best suited.
