Soulsavers are a couple of guys who don’t do much really; they’re producers and remixers, usually back room jobs, but have forced themselves into the limelight with four full albums thus far. They have drafted in Mark Lanegan for the most part to do the singy bits, but not this time. The fourth of those albums is just out and called ‘The Light The Dead See’ and features Dave Gahan on vocals, as well as writing all the lyrics. As you might guess, it’s a downbeat affair, with Gahan in his most depressed mode (sorry) ever. Well orchestrated, it carries a heavy soul and well worth a listen. Start here.
