On Sunday August 26 there’s only one place to be: secretsundaze Go Bang!, an all-day, all-night mini-festival, with Matthew Herbert, Four Tet, Levon Vincent, Sven Weisemann, Ben UFO, Brawther, Giles Smith and James Priestley, and more. It’s going to be one hell of a party!

This August Bank Holiday Sunday, secretsundaze – undisputed leaders of London’s daytime party scene – take partying to the next level, bringing the magic, with an extra special event at exciting new outdoor venue London Pleasure Gardens.

With a lineup that extends the secretsundaze ethos further beyond its usual classic house and techno parameters – and with the focus firmly on quality – Go Bang! embraces more experimental electronic music. Headliner Matthew Herbert is one of the most celebrated English electronic artists of the last 15 years. His early proto minimal deep house excursions included ‘Around The House’, which utilised household objects to create music; ‘Bodily Functions’, sampled body sounds; and recently he has garnered attention for his ‘One Pig’ LP that controversially documented the life of a pig, from birth to plate. With Herbert, the medium, the music, the matter and the message will always be inseparable.

Four Tet – aka Keiran Hebden – is one of the biggest stars in dance music today. His genre-bending open-minded approach to DJing and producing has seen him rise to the top of his game, and his ability to mix styles on his hugely well-received Fabric mix CD last year earned him props from many camps.

Levon Vincent is a big-room player who’s moved the much-loved NY muscle sound forward. His unique releases on his own imprint Novel Sound are hugely anticipated sellouts, and his DJing is in equal demand. His sets have taken him all over the world, and he played at secretsundaze NYE 2011. Sven Weisemann is a secretsundaze favourite. A precocious talent, he is self-taught on piano, guitar and percussion and is quite the turntablist. Productions range from the sweetest deep house on Mojuba, to his more dubstep-orientated project Desolate. secretsundaze Go Bang! presents his debut live set!

One part of Hessle Audio, Ben UFO (Ben Thompson) is one of very few DJs to make it purely off the back of his DJing. He is dedicated to unearthing the best records, joining the dots between bass, garage, techno and house with his excellent mixing skills. One of house music’s most talented new producers, Brawther understands the purist US house vibe of the ‘90s. secretsundaze’s own agency, The Secret Agency, was quick to recognise this, and released the first secretsundaze 12″ with him last year. Brawther has also had big props from Chez Damier, releasing on his Balance imprint. There are more lineup announcements still to come, but this gives you a taster…

The Secret Agency Floating Cocktail Lounge is a showcase of young, vibrant emerging UK talent from The Secret Agency’s roster. This provides a distinct alternative to the secretsundaze arena and will be bass-heavy, incorporating the panoply of sounds coming from London and Bristol. Catch Wbeeza, Sei A, Ill Blu, DJRUM, Al Tourettes and Citizen.

secretsundaze co-founders James Priestley and Giles Smith are keen to push boundaries. “secretsundaze Go Bang! is an opportunity for us to explore the full spectrum of music we are currently digging,” explains Giles Smith. “It has always been about real deal house and techno, never pandering to the latest fad or hype. But in recent years we have been excited and inspired by a younger generation of artists who bring fresh things to the table. We want to embrace all forms of cutting-edge electronic music.

“Go Bang! is our way of pushing this to our ever-faithful supporters, and also reaching out to new music fans. We also have the opportunity to book people we might not normally get at a usual secretsundaze event, such as Four Tet and Ben UFO, who play quite a broad range of music but always with a firm eye on quality.”

Describing how the day-into-night party will work, he explains: “The opportunity to do both the more classic, sexy daytime open-air vibe in true secretsundaze fashion and then move inside to the Dome for a more angular, gnarly nighttime sound gives the event a whole new appeal. The party will be bigger and better than ever before, with our usual focus and attention on production, sound, lighting and deco. The added bonus of hosting the event at the new amazing London Pleasure Gardens is the icing on the cake.”

There’s much more to be announced, with exciting additions coming soon. Grab your tickets to the first ever secretsundaze Go Bang! event! This all-day-into-night party will be one to remember…
