Anyway, I’ve never paid much interest to TBJM and decided, on a whim, to take the new album for a ride. Well I enjoyed it, not enough to go listen to the other twelve, but enough to put a track right here. It’s sixties psychedlia with more than a hint of The Doors and The Velvets and you may just like to try it out too.
We all love ice cream and pizza don’t we? But I can’t think of any circumstances where you might consume them as a unit. We also all love music and comedy but I’m afraid the same adage applies. Few comedy records will ever be hailed as being even credible, maybe The Bonzos when it was original, Monty Python of course and certainly the last couple of Kaiser Chiefs albums. Jack Black is a decent enough actor even if Shallow Hal wasn’t his only bum movie. But Tenacious D? Regurgitating seventies rock tunes and riffs with tales of penises, trombones and whores really isn’t entertaining. I don’t think he realises just how far away they are from being ‘the best band in the world’. New album ‘Rize Of The Fenix’ = Bummer of the week.e or expand on it – don’t!).
