Silversun Pickups released one of my personal favourite albums of 2009 with ‘Swoon’ and out now is the follow-up ‘Neck Of The Woods’. It took me longer than I’d hoped to get into it and certainly starts with the less strong songs, but it comes through nicely as a very accomplished album. Their sound remains a bit like Placebo meets The Walkmen at a Smashing Pumpkins jam and shines a bright light on the darkside. If that sounds interesting, place an ear or two to the attached ditty. Listen all the way through though, as it concludes with a lush piece of guitar work.
