Track Of The Day #48: Moonface – Teary Eyes And Bloody Lips

Spencer Krug is probably a name most of you won’t know. His main band are Wolf Parade, who may be more familiar and last year’s ‘Expo 86’ got highly rated, although not by me; thought it was weak! Well his other band, moreso alter ego, is Moonface and a whole lot more listenable in my book. The second album under that moniker is just out and called ‘With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery’, which I understand might be a big turn-off in itself! But don’t deny yourself something of an experience. The album is hugely intense, both musically and emotionally and captured me completely. If you ever wanted to combine The Mission with The Killers and sprinkle on a Fleetwood Mac feature, this track will wow you. If that thought horrifies you, listen anyway and you will know what I mean.
