Track Of The Day #19: Pontiak – Left With Lights

Pontiak

Pontiak are another band who’ve been around a while but remain unnoticed.  They have released an album every year since 2005 and the latest is called “Echo One”. Wikipedia informs me that their music is not easily classified and they illustrate influences from the likes of Black Sabbath and Neil Young.  Well I’ve heard none of their previous material so can’t comment on that, but the latest album bears absolutely NO resemblance to either of those acts!  It’s full-on vulgar shouty indie rock and if you’re still reeling over Kasabian’s inability to progress, ‘Left With Lights’ might just fill a gap for you.
