High Definition Festival announces joint headline performances

HD Festival

On Saturday June 30th High Definition Festival is bringing the very best in established and breakthrough international and UK electronic music to Forest Farm in Essex.

The name synonymous with his 2006 smash hit “Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit” Fedde le Grand will take to the main stage for his co-headline set. Originally from Holland, Fedde is without a doubt one of the biggest names to have emerged from the Dutch House scene. Having toured the globe and forged residencies at some of the most prestigious clubbing institutions Fedde le Grand is now a fully seasoned veteran of the circuit.

It’s not often British House producers get nominated for a Grammy. However, Mark Knight has built his name throughout the constantly evolving House scene in the UK and has become an internationally respected name over the years. Founding the seminal Toolroom Records in 2004 Knight has built an outstanding reputation as a producer and has seen his label granted residency at London clubbing institution Ministry of Sound and in Ibiza, Miami, Frankfurt and New York.

Additional stages will see some truly groundbreaking DJs performing, from Crosstown Rebels to Hot Creations. Tipped as one of Resident Advisor’s Top 5 DJs in the World, Maceo Plex will be making a headline appearance. Known for his sometimes dark yet warming take on Disco-inspired House, Plex jumps in to High Definition Festival with some incredible support.

Showing solidarity to the UK House scene and pushing the Hot Creations vibe, Miguel Campbell brings over ten years of experience to the turntables with his modern underground House sound. In addition Londoner Alexis Raphael of Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Waves imprint makes his debut appearance at the festival.

Elsewhere, Australian Drum and Bass sensations Pendulum will be thrilling the crowds with a typically eclectic, twisted and energetic DJ set.

Joining will be Mercury Prize winning artist Ms. Dynamite. The singer of top 10 UK hits “It Takes More” and “Dy-Na-Mi-Tee” will be turning up the heat with her unique urban sound.

Sub Focus has worked with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, deadmau5, The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx. Registering a #1 in the UK Dance Charts with his breakthrough hit “X-Ray” he ranks amongst the top acts in Drum & Bass and Dubstep today.

Without a doubt one of the most important Urban DJ’s on BBC Radio, MistaJam will be escaping the broadcast studio to bring you the best in Drum & Bass, Dubstep, UK Funky, Grime and just about everything in between.

Rounding things off is one of the most legendary DJ’s in Drum and Bass. Fabio is renowned for pioneering the genre during its formative years. A weekly slot on BBC Radio 1 saw him take Drum & Bass to a global audience.

High Definition Festival prides itself on taking absolutely no shortcuts when it comes to the quality of featured acts, sound systems and production values involved. This year will see an even keener focus on making it one of the slickest and most visually stunning parties of 2012, including a selection of the best food, entertainment and VIP areas.

Featuring five specialist stages, the event will showcase a wide variety of the finest talent across the spectrum of electronic music. Further artist announcements to follow.

Festival Director, Daniel May, said: “We were blown away by the response to last year’s event and can’t wait to get 2012 under way. We’ve got an obsessive passion for what we do. It’s about attention to detail: the artists, the sound, the visuals, the quality of the experience. This is by enthusiasts for enthusiasts with some of the best names in electronic music. This year is going to be special.”

Tickets are now on sale. Strictly limited numbers of early bird tickets are available at £25, with standard tickets following at £40 and VIP tickets at £75.
