Oxford’s Fixers return with ‘Iron Deer Dream’, their first release of 2012, the year their musical visions will cement their reputation.

‘Iron Deer Dream’ features chiming guitars, soaring melodies, five part harmonies and lush production that sees the track fly. Fixers are a band with their gaze firmly on the stars, looking beyond the usual musical confines, searching for something much bigger. They aim to make music in their own musical world, where creativity rules.

On the video
“There is a novel titled Kangaroo Notebook by a Japanese author named Kobo Abe. It tells the story of a man who wakes up to find himself sprouting radishes from his armpits – I wasn’t even aware of this novel when the Iron Deer Dream video idea was devised. We simply wanted to do something absurdist and surreal, something that flourished in the abstract whilst keeping a level of comedy and demented angst. I always saw the elderly man’s ailment as a rather direct metaphor for my breakfast cereal addiction too…”

The debut album ‘We’ll Be The Moon’, is set for release 14th May. A kaleidoscopic, psychedelic adventure, it features everything from Middle Eastern melodies to Japanese pop, New York dance grooves to Beach Boys harmonies. It will be one of the most thrilling albums of the year from this one-of-a-kind band.

Fixers hit the road with Kaiser Chiefs on their nationwide tour, plus they have announced a series of their own shows. All the details are below.

After emerging at the tail end of 2010, the band have released a string of critically-acclaimed singles, whilst featuring in NME, The Guardian, The Times, The Fly and more. Radio support has come from Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe.

A special band, Fixers are a breath of fresh air, inventive with a creative spirit that means they never stand still, constantly moving forward, and pushing and pulling melody and rhythm in different directions.
