The 2 Bears, aka Raf Daddy and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, have shared a brand new track that they created to help raise awareness for the charity Touretteshero. The 2 Bears played at the charity’s launch party at Plan B in September and then made this track using a recording of the vocal ticks of the charity’s founder Jessica Thom.
Touretteshero was established to celebrate and share the creativity and humour of Tourettes in an accessible way, with the widest possible audience and increase awareness of Tourettes and its challenges without self-pity or mockery.
Raf Daddy: Our friends Mathew and Jess set up a charity / foundation for young folk with Tourettes syndrome. Jess recorded and sent us a load of her ticks and we made a track out of them. It’s a really great cause and one we’re fully behind.
The 2 Bears’ first three EPs were hammered by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan, and Pete Tong, and this summer’s Bear Hug EP cranked things up yet another notch.
With their new single, Work, released the first week of January, already picking up some strong support in clubs and radio, The 2 Bears highly anticipated debut album, Be Strong, is due late January.
