Oxford’s LITTLE FISH have announced a one-off live date at London’s Barfly to celebrate the release of new single ‘Wonderful’. Singer/guitarist JuJu Sophie says – “We are really excited to be launching Wonderful. It’s a whole new chapter in the Little Fish story and we want to make the launch gig really special. We’ve always been seen as quite a punky band, but we’re more than that and this isn’t going to be your usual Barfly gig. We’ve invited one of our favourite female-fronted London bands, Black Casino & The Ghost, to support along with George Chopping, an awesome Oxford poet who’s worked with us on a lot of acoustic gigs. We’re going to make this one an evening to remember…”
Wonderful is the new single by Little Fish, “Oxford’s best live band” (Nightshift, 2011). It was produced by Gaz Coombes in the cellar of his home in Oxford and will be released on 10th October through Estupendo Records. Gaz and JuJu recently filmed a special acoustic version of the single which can be seen here.
Wonderful will be available from 10th October on vinyl and as a download, featuring artwork by Blessing Force artist Valeska Hykel and a limited edition comic by Shipmate Title, who produced the band’s latest video.
On their second record the band have decided to return to their Oxford roots. Little Fish are making a truly DIY, locally sourced album. Wonderful is the first single from this album, a “perfect, understated and lush” (Alex James, In:Demand Radio) song about a time when Juju lost her voice for three years and was told she would never sing again.
