Dad Rocks! is the alter-ego of Snævar Njáll Albertsson. When he’s not busy being the singer, guitarist and trumpet-player in the much-loved Danish post-rock/indie band Mimas, Snævar puts pen to paper writing beautiful, lush acoustic tunes.
Fans of Owen, Why? and Joanna Newsom will fall in love the intricate finger-picked guitars, sweeping strings and orchestral flourishes. That’s not to say that Dad Rocks! is your typical singer-songwriter; far from it. Whether he’s singing about the big issues like climate-change and the digital revolution, or musing on more personal subjects such as growing older, there’s an odd flash of tongue-in-cheek humour to put a smile on your face. With songs so rich and varied, there’s bound to be something for everyone here.
Dad Rocks! is visiting the UK this Winter in support of his debut full-length album ‘Mount Modern’, which is released via Big Scary Monsters on 8th November.
