‘The Fox’ is the claustrophoic, stripped back moody bside to her new single ‘Deep Water Heart Breaker.’ Which is out next week (August 8th) through independent label Stella Mortos, who’ve teamed up with Vertigo Records for the release. Watch it below!!
‘Deep Water Heart Breaker’ produced by Entrepreneurs and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Portishead) is a cerebral, 90s influenced, gutter guitar rock offering. Sleazy vocals about materialistic relationships interject an onslaught of electric drums, distorted guitars and dizzying fairground percussion. New Zealand’s indie rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Brooklyn female duo Creep have turned in remixes.
‘Deep Water Heart Breaker’ follows FOE’s debut EP ‘Hot New Trash’, which arrived wrapped up in jagged guitars, heavy-duty vocals and badass attitude. ‘Hot New Trash’ also released on Stella Mortos was recorded by FOE and produced by Entrepreneurs in their bedroom studio.
Over the last six months FOE has immersed herself in various other projects with like-minded musical nomads such as Entrepreneurs and Ghostpoet. A rework of FOE’s ‘Genie in a Coke Can’ by AlecEmpire – front man of German hardcore band Atari Teenage Riot resulted in FOE supporting ATR
