The b-side to the Celestial Shore 7″ entitled ‘Maps has been released this afternoon a delightful mix of Animal Collective rhythms and Beach Boys harmonies. Listen below.
The members of Celestial Shore grew up together playing jazz music in Boston before hitting the road for West Hollywood and spending time recording in Austin. The sunshine state is an obvious influence in this Beach Boys-esque melodies. Their move back to New York is shown in their mathy, Dirty Projectors-esque guitar riffage.
