The Antlers have announced a series of UK dates this winter in support their forthcoming album ‘Burst Apart.’ See full list below.
2009 saw the release of The Antlers’ astonishing album “Hospice”, an elaborate song cycle dealing with life, death and all the in-between, a record which earned the trio of Peter Silberman, Michael Lerner and Darby Cicci rapturous praise, striking a deep and resonant chord in both critics and audiences alike
Now, with their new album “Burst Apart”, released June 13 on Transgressive Records, The Antlers expand upon their already distinctive voice, creating an inspired melding of complex electronic textures and acutely emotive songcraft. The eagerly awaited follow-up to “Hospice” was born out of an intensely collaborative process in which singer/guitarist Peter Silberman, drummer Michael Lerner, and keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci fully immersed themselves in sonic experimentation, working as a tightly knit creative unit to fulfill a shared musical vision. Songs like the shimmering “I Don’t Want Love” and the languorous “Rolled Together” are lush, nuanced, and uncommonly moving, seamlessly integrating accessible and affective melodies with dynamic, imaginative orchestrations. With its swelling pulsebeats, intricately crafted arrangements, and dreamy pop hooks, the remarkably sensual “Burst Apart” sees The Antlers’ ambition and artistry ascending to an extraordinary new plane.
Following a brief run of UK dates this spring, The Antlers will be back to showcase “Burst Apart” with a full UK tour in November, commencing November 8 in Brighton and including a headline show at Koko in London, their biggest to date. Make sure you don’t miss out.
