Mysterious Manchester crew WU LYF have released the terrific video (spliced with images of riots) for their forthcoming single ‘Dirt’ here’s the youtube description: “a lil spark of lucifer for true blue kids no longer blinded by spectacle glare; the fire so bright it burnt our eyes until we could see; baby boys/ golden girls holla in the dirt.”
Radio 1’s Zane Lowe made the track his ‘Hottest Record’ last night. It’s particularly pertinant given the ant0cuts riots and marches that have spread accross Europe this year, along with the Arab spring uprising of democracy, ‘Dirt’ sounds like a thundering call to arms.
‘Dirt’ is taken from WU LYF’s debut album ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’, released on the band’s own L Y F Recordings on 13th June.
