Uber cool NME sweethearts The Horrors return once more to the breach with a video for new single ‘Still Life‘, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Skying‘ which is scheduled for release on 11th July via XL Recordings. The single is set to compliment a string of UK and European festival dates, plus a slot at ATP’s American outing in October.
Catching everyone with their pants down in 2009 with their withdrawal from the surf-punk scattyness that brought them to the fold, the band triumphed with the lazily dubbed ‘krautrock’ sounds of second long-player ‘Primary Colours‘. Now, citing this new single as primary evidence, it’s fair to say The Horrors are keen to once again throw caution to the wind and progress their sound toward fresher pastures. You have to admire their gumpf.
