Noah And The Whale will present a short film about the making of their acclaimed top 1o album, Last Night On Earth, on May 17th. In a brilliantly inventive concept, the band will host the film alongside original demos and a live Q&A in a uniquely ticketed online event that will give unparalleled access to Noah and the Whale and their recording process in the ultimate online experience for a music fan.
The short film is edited and narrated by the band’s Charlie Fink, who had previously directed the film accompaniment for their album The First Days Of Spring. The Making Of Last Night On Earth sees the band move on from the touring of The First Days Of Spring to a very different new album, recorded between London and Los Angeles, with Fink co-producing alongside Jason Lader (The Strokes).
In a specially designed online broadcast, The Making Of Last Night On Earth will be premiered exclusively on The Last Night on Earth Cinema at 5pm on May 17th and will be followed by a live web chat about the film with Charlie Fink. Fans are invited to book their seats in Noah And The Whale’s Cinema in advance of the screening in order to gain access to the site and enter the webchat by going to http://www.lastnightonearthcinema.com.
As well as the screening and webchat, fans attending the online event will additionally be able to listen to ten original demos from the album streamed on the site, with notes about each song written by Fink to accompany it. This is the first time these demos have been aired, giving a privileged view into the making of the album for lucky Noah and the Whale fans. This experience of watching a documentary made by the band, being able to listen to all their demos and chat to Fink about it offers fans a rare and spectacular view into the world of the band.
Each attendee to the screening will be provided with a unique URL on their ticket, which can only be used once, giving the whole experience a more personal and exclusive twist. The site is built in will function on iPad, Android and iPhone, while the inviting process is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter so people can sign in using their accounts, invite friends and post a status update saying that they are attending.
