The perfect match for Beach Break’s tech hungry, savvy student crowd, Dell will be bringing some pioneering new developments to the festival and will enable festival goers to venture into the brave new world of festival meets technology!

Amongst the awesome activity already confirmed is The Dell Dome, a brand new and exciting venue where leading technology and social media will be at your muddy fingertips. Sit in comfy surroundings and do some surfing of a different kind! Tweet your heart out, Facebook your friends (so they know what they’re missing), Skype your grandma (so she knows you miss her) and upload photos on brand new Dell laptops including the InspironTM 15 & 17R. The list is endless!

Keep your eyes peeled for the Dell Digital Festival, an interactive and virtual festival world you can explore before, during and post festival. It will feature interviews with the hottest stars at the festival and exclusive backstage gossip so you won’t miss a thing. Also there will be playlists, videos and photos from before and after the event which people can ‘tag’ themselves in, live feeds from the venues and plenty of other cool content such as a map and tracker to where acts are playing to guide you around the venue.

James Griffiths from Dell said “BBL understands the Gen-Y audience and we’re excited to be working with them again on what looks to be a great festival experience for all. Our involvement allows those at the festival and at home to enjoy the music and get exclusive content from backstage to the Dell Main Stage.”

Celia Norowzian from BBL says “We are over the moon to be working with Dell again. They are the perfect partner for our student audience and we are doing some amazing activities that will offer people some great experiences at the festival as well as online before and after the festival.”

Our partnership with Dell has also enabled us to upgrade the mighty Beach Break Live main stage. Now the Dell Main Stage, you will be treated to more power than ever before!  Listen out for the crispier than ever main stage sound and jaw dropping screens so you can watch and listen to the likes of Tinie Tempah and White Lies in high definition! Behold, the mighty Dell main stage!

Beach Break Live first made its appearance on the festival circuit in June 2007. With the success of the first festival under their belt the two young entrepreneurs behind BBL, Celia Norowzian and Ian Forshew both graduates of The University of Birmingham, appeared on BBC2’s Dragons’ Den programme in November 2007.irst student-only festival and won over all four of the tough Dragons and caused a bidding war to arise.  Out of the four offers made to them on the show they chose to go with Peter Jones’ deal. However, in a bold move, the dynamic duo declined his offer and concluded a deal with Outgoing Ltd the student event and travel specialist best known for staging the infamous Snowbombing Festival in Mayrhofen.

The couple were also the subject of a high profile BBC documentary shown in August 2008, tracking the making of Beach Break Live 2008 and the exciting twists and turns encountered along the way.
The festival has grown from 1000 students in its first year, to 5000 in its second, and doubling in its third year to 10,000 and is now looking to sell a mighty 17,500 tickets in 2011.  Beach Break Live has not only become well established in the summer line up of festivals, but is now an award winning event having picked up two awards, ‘Best Promoter’ and ‘Best Small Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards 2009.  This year’s festival will be bigger and bouncier than ever in terms of line-up and general shenanigans.
