EMA is is the solo project of South Dakota’s Erika Anderson, formerly of the Gowns collective. An experimental alchemist, she deals in the best no wave pop around.
Signed to Souterrain Transmissions, two singles have been released to date: Grey Ship, which found a home in the hearts of many online bloggers following its release on March 7th, and California, the video for which can be viewed below. Her debut Past Life Martyred Saints is expected later on in the year.
Last week EMA announced plans to tour the UK this May, with some dates in support of Scout Niblett. She’ll play the following gigs:
