From oestrogen fuelled fun stateside to a revival that’s pummelling our own shores. I’m not talking about the latest Blur/Oasis/Pulp lads-with-Stella-and/or-library-pass job; Black Casino and the Ghostprove women can have it too, albeit on a quieter level in terms of chart success.

Following in the footsteps of Pris and Rubicks, this London based trio combine a pop aesthetic with Elastica beats and Kaiser Chief wit, all wound up with steadfast devotion to Helen Love and Kenickie. Time stands testament that female-led bands can’t break the wave of testosterone that accompanies the UK’s ‘pop rock’ scene, but if there’s one act with the potential to break the mould, Black Casino and The Ghost are it. Push it to your younger sibling(s), sabotage your local jukebox, sit square in the middle of Tescos and blare this out on some kind of portable – the world will love debut single “Falling Into Pieces”.

The band are due to play two London dates over the coming month:

Nov 8th – The Good Ship, London
Nov 12th – Ginglik, London
