Now in its third year, the food and music festival at Jimmy Doherty’s farm in Suffolk boasts an impressive and ever-growing lineup as well as one of the most original and diverse weekend festival experiences anywhere. With the addition of a second stage for this years event and a lineup teaming with musical and Michelin stars, Harvest at Jimmy’s 2011 looks set to close out a busy festival calendar in style.
With a short but rich history in bringing together food and music in a family friendly festival Harvest at Jimmy’s has marked itself as a unique event in the ever-expanding music festival climate. 2011 will see a number of special performances including UK festival exclusives from The Kooks and Fat Freddy’s Drop.
The headliners on the food stage are James Martin and Mary Berry with the likes of Richard Corrigan, Sarah and Monty Don and Gennaro Contaldo joining them in delivering cookery master classes and culinary entertainment. Across the weekend there’s the opportunity to watch, learn and taste the cookery tips on offer.
In previous years the mixture of styles, genres and moods of the music at Harvest at Jimmy’s has been spot-on. Indie, acoustic, pop and rock feel perfectly at home against the backdrop of the relaxed mood of the festival and this year the diversity of the lineup is an exciting prospect indeed.
Whilst Eliza Doolittle, The Kooks and The Feeling will be on hand to provide summery pop anthems there’s also the mellower offerings of Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Turin Brakes to deliver a dose of chilled-out, acoustic simplicity.
Not forgetting two of the more nostalgic and equally diverse acts at this year’s Harvest – The Divine Comedy and Fat Freddy’s Drop. These two have over thirty years combined experience in captivating audiences, the latter with their refreshing mix of dub, soul and reggae and the former for Neil Hannon’s excellently poetic songwriting and lyricism.
Completing the musical lineup for 2011 are Alice Gold, Charlie Simpson, Huw Stephens, Gilles Peterson, Various Cruelties and Tom Reilly.
Unlike a majority of festivals the food takes centre stage at Jimmy’s and rather than the usual over-priced, under-par takeaway vans circling the festival arena Harvest takes pride in being able to offer quality and unique food to festivalgoers.

Also announced as joining them is this year’s Mastechef 2011 champion Tim Anderson.
