‘Futureproof’ is the fourth single EP release lifted from Christa Vi’s forthcoming debut album, Makeshift Happiness, released on the 25th of November. A futuristic pulsing dance tune decorated by euphoric synths and threaded by Christa’s bittersweet vocals, as she “works hard” for a love out of reach. Oscillating gorgeously like a disco ball above the dance floor, it shares some of the productional freshness and minimalism of early ’00s R&B and is redolent o the effecting kitchen sink pop of Everything but the Girl and the danceable suss of early Moloko.
“A result of sessions in the Dalston basement studio of producer Andrew McDonnell (SUNS, Petite Noir). Christa has enlisted the help of indie pop artist Amateur Best (Brille, Double Denim) to create a wiggly leftfield version of the original.
