Track Of The Day #867 – Free Pizza – Sighing

Nashville-based trio Free Pizza understand that to be a great song, it doesn’t need to hang around forever, that quirky doesn’t mean sounding like some irritating 1990s band, and that, quite simply, a tune is a tune.

‘Sighing’, the second track to be unveiled from their forthcoming second album Berlin DE, nods to their DIY beginnings and doffs its collective cap to late 1970s post-punk and sounds delightfully fresh.  There’s something magical about three-piece bands, and even the video with them working their way through takeaway is curiously affecting, without being annoying or goofy.

So take a break from anodyne pop on the radio, and being overwhelmed by what’s on your streaming service of choice and get your ears around this.
